Please Don't!

I am constantly appauled whenever I come across rubbish left by people in the countryside. In my opinion they are so un-deserving of having the pleasurable experience of the countryside if all they have to do in thanks is leave their plastic bags, rubbish and bottles strewn all across our beautful Cotswold scenery…all those in favour say aye!

We have simplified the use of the Campden Blog. In order to start a discussion topic on the blog, all you need to do is select ‘Start a Discussion’ from the top menu and enter a discussion title and its content. (more…)

Improvements

I’m sure we were all pleased that the cracked and slippery paving on the High St. was finally replaced.

But who was responsible for the choice of the very basic concrete pavers chosen for this work?  Surely Campden’s exceptional High St. deserves genuine paving stones – in the central section at least. (more…)

There is no question that the bulletin can be a  good read when it sticks to impartial relevant topics. However, it regularly harrasses an elderly resident of Campden for wasting public money, despite more money being wasted on  Planning objections by other busy bodies supported by this rag. It openly printed an irrelevant racist article as a response to a letter from an Asian council officer, and it regularly prints vile and nasty responses to other people’s letters if they go against the flow. Yes, if you were the kid in the playground who stood giggling, watching the bullies picking on people, I can see why this rag appeals. (more…)

Nicholas Cutts comments about the recreation ground and fears ring pretty hollow.   Is this the same Nicholas Cutts who more than encourages his staff to park on the High Street all day long in order to leave his land ripe for further development.   Sounds a bit nimbyish to me.  After all there are more tennis courts up at Campden School, perhaps the tennis club should make more use of them.

Hi.  I don’t live or work in Campden, but a family member does.  I am appalled that today someone hit his car parked on the High Street and just left without being man or woman enough to leave a note with contact details.  He only purchased it a few weeks ago and it was immaculate.  (more…)

With the full backing of the Recreation Ground Committee, we have recently embarked on a campaign to improve the totally inadequate existing facilities.  It will require SERIOUS expenditure but we are confident that grant funding is available. (Broadway has almost completed a new childrens play area costing in excess of £250,000 all obtained from grants).   We have already obtained a £3,000 “seed money” grant for Public Consultation and initial design and we have been shortlisted for Goverment Playbuilder funding, which could produce a grant of £40,000. If the participants of The Bulletin and The Campden Blog are true Campdonians then they share one thing in common – a failure by all three schools to have taught basic spelling and punctuation. The cure? Six of the best! See me later in The Beak’s office!

Warts and all the Bulletin is a great asset to Campden life.  Those of us living elsewhere now, (London) get monthly glossy magazines that are no more than expensive political propaganda that we have to pay for through taxes.  Until Boris killed it off we used to get two mags, one for Ken and one for the local lot.  The bulletin is a far better solution for sharing local info and long may it continue.  If any locals are not happy with it then I suggest you think of an alternative.
