Membership of the Society is open to any individual interested in promoting its aims. The Committee may establish different types of membership and set appropriate rates of subscription.
At the moment the cost of membership is:
Individual membership: £10
Joint membership: £15
All members are entitled to attend general meetings of the Society. Except where otherwise stated in the Constitution, every issue at a general meeting is determined by a simple majority of the votes cast by the members. An Annual General Meeting will be held each April or as soon as practicable thereafter. An Extraordinary General Meeting may be called by the Committee at any time but the notice to members must state the business to be discussed.
The Committee organises a programme of evening talks and these are open to all members free of charge. These talks are open to the general public for a small admission charge. The programme for 2009-2010 can be found in the News section. Visits to places of historical and/or architectural interest are organised from time to time.
