Home deliveries from local businesses are still continuing to grow, with orders from the Co-op increasing by the day. It is becoming apparent that far too many people who are self isolating are visiting the Co-op, due to its design it makes it very hard to maintain that 2m distance from other shoppers. I understand that the Hub are making representation to the store and local people about this and more self isolators will be encouraged to order by email or over the telephone.
Contacting volunteers seems to work best by communication through the Wolds End/Aston Road WhatsApp group which is working well, however we are at a point where we need more volunteers to take on an active role and join the group. If you are still interested in getting involved helping out in this area please let me have your contact mobile phone number. You can easily download the WhatsApp App, and then be added to the group.
We now have two paper rounds covering the whole town with Andrea Mac Millain delivering the Back Ends, Aston Road area and myself and Donna covering the rest of the town. We deliver papers to 25 households, which prevents occupants from those houses going out to collect papers and minimises their chances of catching the virus. We have had so many positive responses to this service and have so far raised over £60 for the Campden Home Nursing. I may soon need some more help as more residents take on this free service. If you’re interested in getting some early morning exercise or giving one of us a day off, please let me know.
