Scuttlebrook Wake is only a week away

May 26, 2017 | News

Scuttlebrook Wake is reliant on the community of Chipping Campden to show the spirit of Campden and
therefore we would urge everyone in the community to get involved whether that be the fancy dress parade, window
competition, watching events in the Square or visiting the fairground. Sadly this will be the first year for
some time without Nan McGrale taking part in the fancy dress. Nan was a stalwart supporter of Scuttlebrook and
therefore we urge as many of you as possible to enter the fancy dress to maintain this important element of the day.
We acknowledge that Scuttlebrook Wake does cause an element of inconvenience to some people and businesses
in the town. Please take note of the road diversions and one-way systems in effect over the weekend.
We do make every effort to inform large vehicles to avoid the town on this weekend but they still attempt to navigate
the narrow diversions so we ask that people take a sensible approach to parking in the town especially on
the one-way systems.

Friday 2nd June 6pm. Children’s races outside the Lygon Arms, High Street.
Saturday 3rd June. High Street Window Competition. This year’s theme: “Storytime”. Fancy Dress judging
from 1.45pm in Littleworth- All ages, groups and floats welcome! The parade leaves Littleworth 2.30pm. The
afternoon then includes the following: Maypole, Country and Morris Dancing in the Town Square; Crowning of
the Scuttlebrook Queen and awarding of fancy dress prizes; Traditional Fairground rides in Leysbourne;
Family friendly music event by North Cotswold Community Radio, 4-8pm in the Town Square.
