The Cotswolds
The Cotswolds is a region delineated by the Oolitic limestone on which it stands and covers an area of about 800 square miles, and it is not a place to be visited in a day (as several of our visitors have thought they could do). It is full of picturesque market towns and picturesque villages.
It is unique in that it touches on 5 counties, the bulk of it being in Gloucestershire, and so there is an individuality that you would find hard to replicate anywhere else. It extends from Chipping Campden in the North to Roman Bath in the South.
Quintessentially English and very rural, but with so much to do and see but it can also be a peaceful location too. The Cotswolds has gained a reputation for being the country retreat for the rich and famous, and it’s not hard to see why. With its delightful views, beautiful cottages, honey-coloured villages, rolling hills, river valleys, bustling market towns, history and folklore, nature reserves, and much, much more, plus, its easy access to and from London via railways and motorways.
With the Cotswolds right on its doorstep during your stay, Chipping Campden is the perfect choice for a perfect country escape.
